W6: So You Want To Be An Entrepreneur?

This week we learned what it is really like to be an entrepreneur. These are a few of my takeaways from the readings and videos. I learned how important it is to make rules and create balances in your life. Whatever business we choose to do or create, it is important to place rules and balance what is important. While starting and creating may be worthwhile, getting caught up in everything that takes place in growing and creating a business can take over and minimize the things that are important in your life. I also learned it's important to really truly figure out WHAT you would like to do because you may be stuck with it for many years. It is important to focus on passions and talents when forming a business but once this business is created it extends further into a responsibility, especially if the business becomes far larger than you imagined. While passion may always be there, remember that you are also responsible for your business and where it goes or where you would like it to go. Time is important. One of the speakers in the video we were assigned to watch stated when we think about the time we need to keep in mind where we want to invest and how we want to invest our time.

I felt this week really made me ponder if the entrepreneurial path is the path I truly want to take. I have many passions and talents I can pursue but are they things that I want to turn into a business or larger business in the future. I have loved learning about being an entrepreneur and what it takes to be one. My knowledge has expanded and I look forward to the other lessons in this course.
