W11: Measuring the Cost - "Attitude on Money" by Stephen W. Gibson

Image
Based on the "Attitude On Money" article from the W11 Study: Measuring the Cost activity, respond to the following questions: -What is your attitude toward money? -How can your view of money affect the way you live? -What rules are recommended for prospering? What is your attitude toward money? I think that money is essential in life but it is so important how we utilize it. It can be consuming and can be wasted on so many unnecessary things. Money can be used for good and can be used in essential and necessary ways. How can your view of money affect the way you live? In the reading, we were assigned to read, it says, " The first thing we need to understand about money is that is not evil. Money is neither good nor bad. The Love of money or the obsession with accumulating money from others unrighteously, no matter what the method, may be evil, but money in and of itself is neither good nor evil." I think this is so important to know and remember, money is actually

W10: Dream Big Dreams

Image
This week we studied the importance of dreaming big and the impact this has on ourselves and our business. There is a quote I really like from a video entitled, Think Big, with speaker Tyler Richards, who says,  “So, the point I’m trying to put across to you is do not over underestimate yourself. You can do it, you can accomplish the goals and dreams that you set and if you involve the Lord, you can do the impossible, you can do amazing things you can do great things. Just like it says in good to great, it's a whole lot more fun to do great things than to just be good.  Or to just be mediocre. And it's no harder to be great than to be good.   So, I challenge you, pursue your goals and dreams. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it. And involve the Lord, you can do great things.” When we are striving to achieve our dreams it is so important to believe in ourselves. If we are not confident in ourselves or our thoughts fulfilling our dreams may not go as we plan.

W09: Disciple Leadership

Disciples and Leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints This week I learned a lot about how to be a disciple and how to be a leader, one of our readings this week was a BYU-Idaho devotional it shares that "a disciple is one who follows or attends upon another for the express purpose of learning."  When I read this quote, I thought of how I am a disciple. It doesn't have to be in the spiritual sense, but right now I am learning how to become many things right now in my field of study that will give me a variety of options to later seek a working career path in. I'm a disciple of learning. By being a disciple and striving to be so, we can be leaders as well. Leaders to those who are seeking that discipleship path. In another article we read, entitled, A Message to Garcia , it shares a section about seeking a hero's journey by giving perspective and inspiration for the journey. These steps will also help to improve your talents and develop a better u

W8: Overcoming Challenges

In this week's readings and videos, we learned a lot about overcoming challenges and what we should do when we face those roadblocks in our way. We had a few wonderful readings and videos from leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The first reading we read was from a devotional with Elder and Sister Holland. It is entitled, However Long and Hard the Road. Here are some of the things I liked about what they said: -It is important that we keep a sense of humor.  -Be excited about your chance to grow and develop and become. -"Only a small portion of what we are [is developed] and there is an enormous potential in the human being." -Leo Buscaglia -"I used to think being somebody meant public recognition of one's efforts. Wrong. I now know that the feeling of being somebody comes from hard work and self-growth. Being in control of my life makes me answer that questions with a strong 'Yes!'" - Marily Funt -The only limitations you h
